Meet the Team!

Heather Humes, M.S.

Hi! I am founder, and the mental performance consultant for Enjoy the Ride. My life changed beautifully when it became intertwined with horses where I found my purpose to help riders reach their goals. Along with working with equestrian athletes, I also work with other sports, and performers to reach their full potential.

Along with consulting, I also serve as the Co-Director for the Center of Sport and Performance Psychology at California Baptist University. Through my experience at CBU, I was able to work with many incredible individuals and teams at various levels from youth/recreational to collegiate level athletes. One of the most shaping parts of life as a CBU graduate student was being able to work with doctoral social work students as they prepared for their defense, as well as working with police explorers on the mental side of performance. Through these experiences, it allowed me to develop a love for sport and performance psychology, and allowed me to use my fear of public speaking to propel myself into organizing and speaking at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) West Regional Conferences hosted at CBU.

Through all these experiences, it has shaped me into a well-rounded consultant who has a deep desire to help athletes and performers realize they are capable of far more than they believe. One of my favorite parts of my practice is seeing individuals and teams, grow and develop.
